Looking forward to Art Walk this Saturday

We're excited to be hosting Portland non-profit group These Numbers Have Faces and their images of students in South Africa.  Join us from 6-9 PM, Saturday, March 12th for an engaging evening.  See you there...

The Idea:

These Numbers Have Faces believes that relationships can change the world.

Numbers, statistics, figures, and data are important ways to evaluate and measure complex issues like global poverty. But in terms of actually reducing it, we believe transforming statistics into human relationships to be one of the most effective and powerful steps forward.

No matter what the news media tell us, young people in South Africa are not numbers. They are not color coded charts, pie graphs, or economic statistics. These Numbers Have Faces.

The Vision of TNHF:

These Numbers Have Faces envisions a South Africa where young people have access to quality education and learn the skills needed to reduce poverty in their own communities.

As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” The cornerstone of These Numbers Have Faces is built upon the belief that education is the catalyst that can lift people out of poverty.

What We Do:

These Numbers Have Faces invests in the future leaders of South Africa by empowering young people to reduce poverty in their own communities.

Through college scholarships and a dynamic Community Impact Model young people are developing the skills to transform South Africa.
